The hay is primarily comprised of native western wheatgrass from creek-bottom fields.  About a third of the hay fields contain varying amounts of volunteer alfalfa.

Hay is also harvested from one 40 acre native dryland field,
which is comprised of western wheatgrass, green needlegrass
     and alfalfa.

The tines of our rotary rake do not contact the ground and therefore do not deposit dirt into the windrow.  This makes for much cleaner hay crop with a lower ash content.  No more dusty hay - horses love it!

It also leaves the old grass (litter) on the ground, which helps to shade the ground and build soil.

We triple net wrap our large round bales, which average approximately 1,650 pounds and measure 60" x 66".  All hay is tested and separated accordingly.
